Lucky Louie

Lucky Louie was a 2006 HBO sitcom produced by and starring Louis C.K. I created the hand-drawn opening animated title sequence, along with a hand-made vector font, and it was then shot on 35mm film to give it an extra cinematic look.

I’ll admit my process for creating this animation was somewhat crude. I drew the entire animation by hand on paper and then colored it digitally. I then joined the images to form a digital video which was then projected and filmed.

Some of my earlier drawings for this project had a flatter, more modern look, a couple of which I’ve included here.
